2022 Urban Wood Drying Workshop

Proper drying is key to processing freshly milled boards & slabs into valuable, high quality, marketable urban lumber products.

Deadwood Revival Design, North Carolina State University wood products extension, and the Environmental Center of San Luis Obispo have partnered under a Cal Fire Community & Urban Forestry grant to present a series of urban wood drying workshops over the next three years. Proper drying is key to processing freshly milled boards and slabs into valuable, high quality, marketable products. This workshop will provide you with the knowledge to better control drying in your urban wood operation and resources to develop a strategy and implement best practices.

  • measuring & monitoring moisture

  • resources, literature & training

Lectures by: NC State’s Frederik Laleicke and Phil Mitchell, and Deadwood Revival Design’s Daniel Torres

 

Round table discussion: opportunities to share challenges & best practices with other experts.
